Fredric C. Owens, age 68, of St. Charles, Ill., passed away Wednesday,
February 14, 2013 at Delnor Hospital, Geneva, Ill., surrounded by family.
He was born
April 17, 1944 in Cortland, New York, the son of Harry and Beverly (Lucas)
Owens.
He is survived
by his loving wife of 48 years, Ruth (Eggerding); children Wendy (Dirk)
DeYoung of Plainfield, Ill., and Fredric (Laura) Owens of Chesterton, Ind.;
grandchildren Derek and Mark DeYoung and Fredric III and Max Owens; and many
other dear relatives and friends.
Fredric was
preceded in death by his parents and brother, Tom.
Fredric served
his country with the U.S. Navy in the Vietnam War, during which he served on
the USS Rehoboth. Fredric was very active with the VFW and was a past Post
Commander of the Batavia VFW. He also enjoyed bowling and fishing in his
free time. Fredric worked as a specialist mold maker for local
manufacturers. Throughout his life, Fredric found joy in spending time with
his family and friends and will be greatly missed.
A funeral
service will be held Monday, 10 a.m., February 18, 2013 at Immanuel Lutheran
Church, 950 Hart Road, Batavia, Ill., with Pastor Ron Weidler officiating.
Interment will
follow at Chapel Hill Gardens West, Oakbrook Terrace, Ill.
Visitation will
be held Sunday, February 17, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Malone Funeral
Home, 324 East State St., (Rt. 38) Geneva, Ill.
