Dr. Ernest W. “Skip” Stiller 68, passed away suddenly at 11 p.m., Monday,
February 11, 2013, at his New Buffalo residence.
He was born June 7, 1944, in Chicago, Ill., to Ernest W. Sr. and Marian (Holfelner)
Stiller and has lived in the LaPorte area since 1975.
He was the first Valedictorian to have a perfect 4.0 grade point average
from Chesterton High School in 1962, graduated with Honors from the
University of Chicago Medical School, practiced medicine as a Board
Certified Orthopedic Surgeon in the LaPorte area from 1975-1992, and was a
member of the Army Reserves.
He is survived by his daughter Amy (Casey) Sanders, of Deerfield, Ill.; four
sons, Scott (Martha) Stiller, Chicago, Ill.; Sean (Deanna) Stiller,
Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif.; Stephen (Kara) Stiller, Chicago, Ill.;
and Saxon Stiller, LaPorte, Ind., as well as grandchildren Alaina and David
Sanders.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, February 14, 2013, at Essling
Funeral Home with Rev. Ian Williams officiating.
