Donald L. “Doc” Ponder, age 71 of Chesterton, Ind., passed away Friday,
March 22, 2013.
He was born April 16, 1941 in Danville, Ill., to Farris and Anna (Morgan)
Ponder, both of whom preceded him in death.
Donald was married to Margaret “Peggy” (Eades) Ponder, who survives of
Chesterton.
Donald is also survived by his son, Jeff Ponder of Chesterton; daughters,
Kim (Ken) Scott of Chesterton and Tamera (Richard) Leidolf of Buffalo, New
York; brothers, Charles (Eloise) Ponder of Michigan City, Ind., and Tim
Sydow of Mississippi; sister, Becky Frankenburger of Michigan City, Ind.; 13
grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Doc retired from Sullair after 29 years of service. He enjoyed yard work,
fishing, and assembling clocks in his spare time.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 25, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. at Edmonds &
Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, Ind., with Thomas Potter
officiating. Burial followed at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso, Ind.
Visitation was held Monday, March 25, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of
services at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
