Carl G. Konefsky, age 78, passed away peacefully at home, on Sunday morning, December 30, 2012.

He was born August 13, 1934. Carl is survived by his life partner and companion, Pat Mason of Michigan City, Ind.; three children, Lesli (Laurie) Pruitt of Hobart, Ind., Christopher (Henrietta) Konefsky of North Judson, Ind. and Lisa (Tom) Pickle of Kingston, Tenn.; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; Pat’s mother Frances Mason and brother Frank (Judy) Mason. Special friends, Danny Scheetz, Molly Hartwig, Judy Smith, Debbie Timko; and his beloved pets, Gretchen, Sammie, Alex, Oscar and Frannie Girl.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Ruth (Hitchcock) Konefsky; and brother, Stanley Konefsky, all from Munster, Ind.

Carl served in the US Navy for four years. He was a car salesman in Chicago and Northwest Indiana for more than 40 years. Carl was a dedicated, devoted and proud member of the Unity in the Dunes Church. He served as Chairman of the Usher and Greeter Team and he held the highest respect for the congregation and his minister, Sara. In addition, he was a current member and past President of the Porter County Amateur Radio Club. Carl enjoyed watches/clocks, cameras, cooking, boats and Ham Radio. Carl loved going to auctions and garage sales, always looking for another “deal.” He was definitely a “born salesman.”

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 10:00 a.m., at Unity in the Dunes Church, 1607 Burlington Beach Rd., Valparaiso, Ind. Cremation was performed by Heritage Crematory, Portage, Ind. Arrangements are being handled by Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, Ind.

Online condolences may be left for the family at www.EE-FH.com
