Beverly Ann Krewett, age 82 of Chesterton, Ind., passed away Saturday,
January 12, 2013 at the Methodist Hospital in Merrillville, Ind.
She was born on October 17, 1930 in Porter, Ind., to Luther Orval and Irene
Viola Sievert Swoverland, both of whom preceded her in death.
On October 9, 1954 in Chesterton, Ind., she married Robert Alois Krewett,
who preceded her in death in 1988.
Surviving are her children Robert Alan (Sherry) of Tulsa, Okla., Karen Sue
(Robert) of Seffner, Fla., and Patricia Ann (Christopher) of Alexandria,
Va., seven grandchildren and siblings Donald (Eva Lou) Swoverland of LaPorte,
Ind., and Lila (Carl) Hallberg of Chesterton, as well as dear long-time
friend Judy Jones, of Chesterton.
Beverly was also preceded in death by her daughters Jane Ellen and Susan Kay
and a sister Delores White.
She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She sang in the choir for many
years, and in the hospice choir group, taught vacation Bible school, was
part of the Bible study group and was a member the Ladies Aid. Years ago,
when St. Paul’s held Fun Fairs, everyone dressed in themes and Beverly was
known for her wacky costumes. She was the Lutheran Bible Translator Liaison
for St. Paul Lutheran Church. Beverly attended Prince of Peace Lutheran
Church in Merrillville. In her younger days she enjoyed bowling on her team
the “Thursday Morning Ding-a- Lings” and being part of the North Porter
County Garden Club.
A Memorial Service will be scheduled at a later date.
