Andrew P. Maggio, “Mechanical Genius,” age 33, of Hammond, Ind., has passed away suddenly.

He is survived by his beloved children Jonnie Rocco Maggio and Ela Lena Maggio; loving mother, Nancy (Mike) Maggio-Taylor; siblings: Peter (Tracy) Maggio and Jodi (Jay) Craig; grandparents: Elmer and Josephine Phelps.

He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rocco M. Maggio and grandparents Rocco L. and Lena Maggio.

Andrew was an auto mechanic and owner of Maggio Auto in Chicago, Ill. He was a loving father who enjoyed spending time with his children. Andrew enjoyed fishing, hunting and his latest passion, beekeeping. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Ave., Schererville, Ind. Interment will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Friends are invited to visit with the family on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
