Virginia Lhotak services Tuesday

Virginia Lhotak, age 70, of Chesterton, Ind., passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2014.

She was born in Chicago, Ill., on November 8, 1943, to Harold and Allison (Clark) Thedens.

She and Ronald Lhotak were married in Chicago, Ill., on August 15, 1964.

She is survived by her sons, Kevin Lhotak (Tiffany) of Valparaiso, Ind., and Kraig (wife, Jennifer) Lhotak of Chesterton, Ind.; daughter, Kim (husband, Miles) Nilson of Chesterton, Ind.; grandchildren, Kraig Jr., Heather, Adam, Danielle, Sarah and Braiden; niece, Kathy Lhotak and nephew, John Lhotak.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Allison Thedens and husband, Ronald “Pops” Lhotak.

Virginia worked as secretary and treasurer in the family business, Reliable Transportation for over 25 years. She enjoyed all things of nature, especially bird watching. She loved planting flowers and the outdoors.

Virginia was an animal lover and supporter of the Humane Society. She adored children and Christmas was her favorite time of year.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 18, at 10:00 a.m., at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, with Father James Meade officiating.

Entombment is planned at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso, Ind.

Visitation for Virginia will be held on Monday, February 17, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton. There will be a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. on Monday evening.

Memorials may be made to Porter County Animal Shelter.
