Timothy E. Coughlin “Timm” age 62 of Chesterton, Ind., passed away on January 25, 2014.

Timm was born in Logansport, Ind., grew up in Portage, Ind., and lived in Chesterton since 1977.

Timm is survived by his wife of 28 years, Pam (White) Coughlin; sisters Mary Laskody and Patty (Darrell) Hayes; sister-in-law Diane Hursey; brother Dan (Diane) Coughlin; very special niece Emily Hursey and her boyfriend Doug Ruehl; his “other” niece Sara (Matt) Lams and their children Brielle and Elijah; nieces Lindsay, Kira, Carrie, Emily and Hillary; son Jaime Souther Nygra. He is also survived by his aunt Margaret Ann Willison and special cousins Tony and Sheila Willison and their children Lauryn, Aaron and Leah; and Angela and Dave Springer and their children Ella and Paul; best friends Koja Fillwock and Carrie Sosa and their children Elesha, Marissa, Elijah and Mya; and his little buddy Olie.

He was preceded in death by his mother Olga (Maurice) Tolbert; father George Robert (Maxine) Coughlin; in-laws Pete and Edith White; and brother-in-law Kevin Hursey.

Timm was a 1969 graduate of Portage High School and Purdue University. He was an army veteran who proudly served this country in Vietnam. He retired from Bethlehem Steel and was the owner of Man About The House. He worked many years at Fidelity National Title as their maintenance man. Timm’s passion was music and he played bass guitar in many area bands over the years. He loved sharing his knowledge of music with friends and family, being the “Professor of Rock N Roll School.” Timm never met a stranger and was a true free spirit.

A memorial service with Military Rites will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2014, at 7 p.m. at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 South 2nd Street, Chesterton.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4 p.m. until time of service.
