Sue Hyle, age 64 of
Valparaiso, passed away on November 15, 2014.
She was born on
June 24, 1950 in Philadelphia, PA, the daughter of Alfred and Margaret
(Moore) Erickson.
Sue was a graduate
of Kutztown State College (Bachelor’s, Elem. Ed.) and Purdue University
(Master’s, Educ.). She taught for many years in the Duneland School
Corporation at Jackson Elementary. Sue was very involved at Liberty Bible
Church, where she was Director of Kids’ Hope, a tutoring program that
connected the church with Liberty Twp. Schools. She was also a member of Tri
Kappa.
On July 8, 1972 in
Philadelphia, PA, Sue married Frederick W. Hyle, who survives along with
their daughters, Ingrid (Jeff) Cagwin of Valparaiso and Valerie (Jevon)
Ritchey of Nashville, TN; 7 grandchildren: Hanna, Peter, Elisabeth and Julia
Cagwin and Olivia, Clinton, and Wells Ritchey; father and stepmother, Alfred
and Sylvia Erickson of Philadelphia, PA; stepfather Vince Cucinotta of
Philadelphia, PA; brothers and sisters: Dwight (Sandy) Erickson, Carolyn
(Ralph) Johnson, Cindy (Billy) Sohl, David (Betty) Seelhorst, and Deane
(Donna) Seelhorst; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in
death by her mother, Margaret Cucinotta, and brother, Alfred “Buddy”
Erickson II.
Funeral service
will be held on Saturday, November 22, at 10 a.m. at Liberty Bible Church,
824 N. Calumet Ave., Chesterton, with Pastor Robert W. Nienhuis officiating.
Burial will follow at Angelcrest Cemetery, Valparaiso.
Visitation will be
Friday, November 21 from 3-7 p.m. at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt
Rd., Valparaiso.
