Shirley Roy Brush dies at age 94

Shirley Roy Brush, age 94 of Chesterton, Ind., passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at his home.

He was born on December 31, 1918 to Harvey and Luella Hill Brush, both of whom preceded him death.

On January 18, 1987, at the St. Francis Episcopal Church in Chesterton, he married Mary M. Rhoda Brush, who survives in Chesterton.

Also surviving are his step-children Bruce Hentzell of Chesterton, Chris (Suzi) Hentzell of Chesterton and Jackie (Barry) Goodwin of Godfrey, Ill., grandchildren Nick and Andrea of South Bend, Douglas (Laura) Hughes of Spokan Wash., great-grandchildren Nick and Zach and several other great-grandchildren.

Roy was preceded in death by his first wife Molly, his daughter Nancy Crook, one brother and three sisters.

Roy was a member of the St. John United Church of Chesterton. He was an Army Veteran serving his country for five years while stationed in Trinidad. He was a sales person and manager for the Indiana Furniture Store and the Chesterton Furniture Store for over 50 years.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be given to his church, St. John United Church, 255 W. Lincoln Ave., Chesterton, IN, 46304.
