Service Wednesday for Jeremy Wier

Jeremy Alan Wier, age 39, of Westville, Ind., formerly of Chesterton, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at Advocate Christ Medical Center, Oak Lawn, Ill.

He was born May 3, 1975, in Berrien Springs, Mich., to Rex Wier and Jean (Harman) Wier.

On January 31, 2003, in LaPorte, Ind., he married, Karry Ann (Trowbridge) Wier, who survives.

Also surviving are his father, Rex (Gwen) Wier of Jacksonville, Fla.; three children, Madison Wier of Westville, Ryan Scherer of Portage, Ind., and Abigail Scherer of Westville; one sister, Abagael (Andrew) Ann D’Angelo of Grand Blanc, Mich.; one brother, Justin Victor Wier of Bushnell, Fla.; special friends, Chuck Musgrave “Brother”, Annie Bildhauser “Sister”, Steve (Heather) Nelson; and many other special friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Jean (Harman) Wier.

Jeremy was a 1994 Portage High School graduate. He was passionate about his plumbing career and was proud to have received his Plumbing License two years ago. Jeremy enjoyed family, friends, NASCAR, motorcycles, Ford vehicles, the Chicago White Sox, bonfires, woodworking, carpentry, the outdoors, and working on vehicles. He liked to stay busy and always helped others. Jeremy will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

A funeral celebrating his life will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, 247 W. Johnson Rd., LaPorte, Ind., (219) 362-3100.

Visitation and viewing will be from 4 Đ 8 p.m., Tuesday, June 24, and from 10 a.m. until time of service Wednesday.
