Richard J. Kuchik services set for Saturday, December 13

Richard J. Kuchik, 70, Michigan City, IN, passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at 3:00 p.m. in I.U. Health North Hospital, Carmel, IN.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 13, 2014, at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN, with Rev. Rob Dorow officiating. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Friday, and from 9:00 a.m. until service time Saturday, at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel.

He was born July 10, 1944, in Michigan City, IN, to the late Paul and Dorothy (Demski) Kuchik, Sr.

Surviving are a daughter, Kim (Dan) McClintic of Fishers, IN; son, Mark (Rhonda) Kuchik of Carmel, IN; two sisters, Dolores Hackett of Michigan City, IN and Shirley Rybicki of Brownstown, MI; and four grandchildren, McKenzie McClintic, Parker McClintic, Kylie Kuchik and Sophie Kuchik.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Kuchik, Jr. and Robert Kuchik.

He retired after 38 years as a supervisor in the 160/110 inch plate mill at Bethlehem Steel. Richard served in the U.S. Army Reserves and enjoyed going to the beach, bowling, playing cards and softball. He was an L.A. Dodgers and L.A. Lakers fan which was always second to watching his grandkids sporting events as often as he could.
