Millard Tate services set for Sunday, September 29

Millard A. Tate, Jr., age 64 of Chesterton, Ind., passed away Sunday, September 22, 2013 at his home.

He was born May 8, 1949 in Peoria, Ill., the son of Millard A. and Ella Mae (Curtis) Tate, Sr.

On November 21, 1990 in Peoria, Ill., he married Kathy Blunk, who survives in Chesterton.

Also surviving are his children, Valerie (Chad) Hofferth of Chesterton, Keith (Autumn) Bradney of Malden, Mary (Steve) Conder of Chesterton and Chad (Tracy) Taylor of Ill., eight grandchildren, his mother, Ella Mae Tate, four sisters, Margaret (Jim) Valentine of Washington, Ill., Chris (Ron) Weaver of St. Louis, Mo., Sue Hiland of Washington, Ill., Norma (Al) Weaver of Ill., and two brothers Larry Tate of St. Louis, Mo., and Bill (Val) Tate of Ill.

He was preceded in death by his father, two nephews and an uncle.

Millard was a computer repairman. He also enjoyed fishing and watching his beloved Cardinals and Bears.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, September 29, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe St., Valparaiso, Ind., Rev. Shawn Evans officiating.

Visitation with the family will be Sunday from 12 Noon until the time of services at 2 p.m.
