Marjorie A. Johnson, age 93 of Liberty Twp., passed away Monday, May 6, 2013.

She was born on October 6, 1919 in Somers, Wis., the daughter of Fred C. and Anna (Kluender) Gentz.

On June 16, 1940 in Valparaiso, Marjorie married Elmer E. Johnson who survives along with their children, Patricia Ann (R. Daniel) Olson of Valparaiso, Ind., Philip E. (Sandra) Johnson of Valparaiso, Ind., Peggy (the late, Perry) Trowbridge of Valparaiso, Ind., and Bruce E. (Denise) Johnson of Chesterton, Ind.; 10 grandchildren, Eric (Elaine) Olson, Tricia (Jay) Drew, Joanna (Ryan) Maas, Jane (Jeff) Detweiler, Jill (Brandon) Killion, Thomas Johnson, Jennifer (Nikos) Stathopoulos, Kelli Johnson, Katie Johnson, and Matthew Johnson, 23 great-grandchildren; and sister, LaVerne Gustafson of Valparaiso, Ind.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a great-grandchild, two sisters, and one brother.

Marjorie graduated from Valparaiso High School, class of 1938, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Chesterton.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 11, at 11:00 a.m., at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, Ind., with Rev. Larry Starett officiating. Burial will follow at Chesterton Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
