Loretta Ellen Graf dies at 92

Loretta Ellen Graf, 92, the mother of a Chesterton resident, died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013.

She was born Sept. 25, 1920, in Greensburg, Ind., the daughter of Edward F. and Ollie Surface Wanner, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by two daughters, Sharon (Dan) Keilman of Chesterton and Millie (Ed) Arvin; by grandchildren Theresa (Tom) Keilman-Archibald, James (Patty) Keilman, Jennifer Arvin, Cheryl (Eric) Crum, Sara (Chuck) Soblotne, Steven (Marie) Keilman, and Katie Arvin; and by 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ferdinand G. Graf; a brother, Omer Wanner; a sister, Dorothy Walker; and a great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Soblotne.

Loretta was a 1938 graduate of New Point High School and a graduate of St. Vincent School of Nursing, Class of 1940, and was a registered private duty nurse and member of the A.N.A., for which she served as a national office holder. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church.

A mass of Christian burial is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, at St. John Catholic Church, 126 W. Georgia St. in Indianapolis.

Visitation is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial Chapel, 9606 E. Washington St. in Indianapolis.

Memorials may be made to St. John Catholic Church.
