Kent Gulstrom service Monday

Kent F. Gulstrom, 78, of Michigan City, Ind., passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at 6:55 a.m. at The Arbors in Michigan City.

Kent was born October 6, 1935, in Chesterton, to the late Kenneth G. and Lillian (Zygmuntowski) Gulstrom.

On July 19, 1958, in Chesterton, he married Meredith (Stavropoulos) Gulstrom who survives in Michigan City.

Also surviving are three children, Tim (Becky) Gulstrom, Jeff (Debbie) Gulstrom and Melissa Morse, all of Michigan City; five grandchildren, Scott, Ashley and Rachel Gulstrom and Austin and Lucas Morse; one sister, Valerie (Dale) Heinz of LaPorte; and two brothers, Gene (Sue) Gulstrom and Greg (Sherry) Gulstrom, both of Michigan City.

Kent was preceded in death by his son-in-law, John P. Morse, and one sister, Joyce Hensell.

Kent retired from NIPSCO as a customer service supervisor after 38 years at NIPSCO.

He was a member of Elks Lodge #432 and Moose Family Center #980. He was involved in the Atomic Investment Club and loved to play golf. He was a proud veteran, serving in the Army. He was a great all around guy.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 23, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at the Root Funeral Home, with Rev. Gwendolyn Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 22, from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. and Monday, prior to the service, from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. at the Root Funeral Home.
