John H. 'Jack' Bowen dies at age 80

John H. “Jack” Bowen, age 80 of Valparaiso, Ind., passed away June 12, 2013.

He was born on March 10, 1933 in Donora, Pennsylvania, to James and Helen (White) Bowen, both of whom preceded him in death.

Jack is survived by his wife, Gloria Bowen of Valparaiso, Ind.; sons, Dale (Rhonda) Bowen of Chesterton, Ind., Scott Bowen of Valparaiso; daughter, Vicki (Dave) Peek of Hickory, Ky.; grandchildren, Janelle, David, Ashley, Kyla, Kerbi, Amanda, Angela, James; and great-grandchildren, Mya, Jack, Lily, Penelope, and Gwen.

Jack retired from Midwest Steel in 1994, where he worked in customer service. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Portage and a United States Army veteran of the Korean conflict.

Funeral Services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, June 14, at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 6941 Central Ave., Portage, Ind., with Pastor Tim Reyna officiating.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 14, from 3:00 p.m. until the time of services at 5:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Cremation services provided by Heritage Crematory, Portage, IN.
