Jean M. Hamilton, age 90 of Chesterton, Ind., passed away Sunday, January
She was born October 29, 1923 in Sandusky, Ohio, to Harold and Mary (Subcasky)
She was married on December 26, 1942 to Howard Hamilton.
Jean is survived by her daughters, Geeana (Eric Baggett) Hamilton-Baggett of
Miller Beach, Ind., and Betty (Marty Smith) Hamilton of Woodstock, Ill.;
daughter-in-law, Cathy Hamilton of Hinkley, Utah; brother, Jack (Judy)
MacGregor of Sandusky, Ohio; grandchildren, Andrew (Elisha) Sultzer, Melissa
(Kyle) Lukey, Melinda, Karsten and Katrina Hamilton-Smith and Shannon
Hamilton and great-grandchildren, Aubrie and Alexis Sultzer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Howard; son, Howard
Robert Hamilton; brother, Robert MacGregor and sister-in-law, Fayma
Jean was a homemaker, she was a loving wife and mother. She was a member of
Chesterton First United Methodist Church and was active in the Serendipity
Sunday School Class, Dorcas Circle and Companions in Christ. She enjoyed
studying the bible and doing crosswords. She was active in swim aerobics.
Jean was a former member of The Red Hats Society, a former youth leader at
the Duneland YMCA and former Boy Scout Den Mother.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 24, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at
Chesterton First United Methodist Church, 434 S. 2nd St., Chesterton, Ind.,
with Pastor Cathy Allison officiating. Burial will follow at Chesterton
Visitation will be held Thursday, January 23, 2014 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at
Edmonds and Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton.
