Jason “Jay” A. Yaros, Age 42, of Porter, IN, passed away Friday, November 21, 2014.

Jay was born in Valparaiso, IN, on January 29, 1972, to Larry and Nancy (Franklin) Yaros.

He is survived by his parents of Portage, IN; brothers, Duane (wife, Kimberly) Yaros of Valparaiso, David (wife, Nancy) of Parkland, FL, and Shawn Yaros (Suzanne) of Union Mills, IN; nieces and nephews, Brittani, Aaron, Hannah, Jack, Travis and Matthew; God Parents Uncle Duane and Aunt Janet Yaros; aunt, Sandy (Merle) Clayton; uncles, Steven (Polly) Yaros and Charles (Millie) Franklin.

Jay worked for many years as a cook at Wagner’s in Chesterton, IN. He was an avid fisherman and especially enjoyed fishing at Grandma and Grandpa Franklin’s on Lake Bruce. Jay loved animals and adored his own pets.

Visitation for Jay will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2014, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, Portage Chapel, 6941 Central Avenue, Portage, IN.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 26, at 11:00 am, at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, 356 W. 700 N., Valparaiso, IN 46385.
