James W. Goodloe, age 88, of Michigan City, Ind., formerly of Porter, Ind.,
passed away Sunday, September 22, 2013.
He was born on December 12, 1924 in Central City, Ky. to Joel Hayden and
Pearl (Bradshaw) Goodloe.
On October 21, 1948 in Porter, Ind., he married Mary J. Coslet, who preceded
him in death in 2010.
He is survived by four daughters, Linda (Donald) Hansen of Green Cove
Springs, Fla., Christine (Walter) Kay of Elstesnwick, Australia, Mary Ann
Lantz (Rich Skeens) of Michigan City, Ind., and Beth Goodloe-Day (Russ) of
Valparaiso, Ind.; three sons, James A. Goodloe, Brian (Bonnie) Goodloe and
John (Jenny) Goodloe, all of Michigan City, Ind.; 19 grandchildren; 18
great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. He is also survived
by his brother, Kenneth Goodloe of Central City, Ky., and many nieces,
nephews and cousins.
James was a truck driver and welder for many years, previously working for
Lay Trucking in LaPorte, Ind. He was a former member of Temple Missionary
Baptist Church. James was a loving husband, father, grandfather,
great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather and was loved by many.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2013, at 10:00
a.m. directly at Chesterton Cemetery, 300 E. Porter Ave., Chesterton, Ind.
