Grace L. Soliday services Tuesday

Grace L. Soliday, 94, of Valparaiso, Indiana, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Whispering Pines Health Care Center.

She was born April 13, 1919, in Chesterton, Ind., the daughter of George E. and Effie M. (Gartman) Edmond, both of whom preceded her in death.

On May 6, 1949 in Crown Point, Ind., Grace married Robert (Bob) Soliday, who preceded her in death on May 11, 1997.

She is survived by her sons, Edmond L. (Mary) Soliday of Valparaiso, Ind., and Patrick (Janet) Soliday of Portage, Ind.; grandchildren Kimberly, Lindsay, Jason, and Berry (June) Soliday; great-grandchildren Autumn, Lakin and Elias Soliday, and Alexis McLaughlin; step great-grandchildren Kayla Feitshans and Karissa Carter.

She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Charles and John Edmond; and sister, Olive Babcock.

Grace was a Registered Nurse and had worked for Porter Memorial Hospital, Dr. Jack Ditmer, and Dr. Paul C.F. Vietzke. Grace also volunteered for the American Red Cross and was a member of the Porter County Nurses Association.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 2205 Campbell Rd., Valparaiso, Ind., with internment to follow at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso, Ind.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 24, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, Ind.
