Bernard James Brady services Monday, October 7

Bernard James Brady, age 70 of Chesterton, Ind., passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2013, at his home.

He was born on November 27, 1942, to Bernard Jerome and Helen Henderson-Brady, both of whom preceded him in death.

Bernard is survived by his daughters: Michelle (Jerrad) Dietrich and Marcelle Brady, both of Chesterton, Ind.

He is also survived by grandchildren Bryan (Ashley) Talley, Amber Whisler, Tyler Whisler and Dylan Dietrich and great-grandchildren Bryan, Jason, Sarah and Tiffany. His sisters Mary Boyer of Valparaiso, Ind., Linda Kazwell of Florida and Elizabeth (Derek) Green of Valparaiso are also surviving, along with many nieces and nephews.

Bernard was preceded in death by his wife, Ferol Joy Brady, in 2005 and his brother James “Binky” Brady.

Bernard was employed with Duneland Schools in the maintenance department for many years. He enjoyed resale shopping with his cousin, Babe, on their weekly trips. He enjoyed tending to his garden and spending time woodworking. He was connected on Facebook with many friends and family. Spending time with family and friends was Bernie’s favorite thing to do. He will always be remembered for his extreme happiness and the ability to make people laugh.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 7, 2013, at 11:00 a.m., at the White-Love Funeral Home, 525 South 2nd St., Chesterton, Ind., with Pastor Erik Bernth officiating. Burial will follow in the Augsburg Cemetery in Porter, Ind.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 6, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
