Arline (Peterson) Lang Colley dies at age 72

Arline Carol (nee Peterson) Lang Colley, age 72 years, died on August 2, 2013 in Grand Rapids, Mich.

She is survived by her children, Denise Lange of Comstock Park, Mich., Dean Lange (Julie) of Lake Jackson, Texas, Joseph Colley (Margaret) of Aztec, N.Mex., David Colley (Dawn) of Brownsburg, Ind., Nancy Vrska (Michael) of Mckinney, Texas, Mark Colley (Rebecca) of Sandy, Utah, Renee Tornello (Steve) of Jacksonville, Fla., Karl Colley (Carol) of Valparaiso, Ind., along with her sister Lois Fancher (Thomas Lee) of Chesterton, Ind., and dear friend Ardie Burger of Grand Rapids, Mich.

Also surviving are her grandchildren Alexandra Lange, Nathan Lange, Brittany Lange, Jacob Lange (Jessie), Brian Lange, Joseph Lange, Brandon Lange, Max Colley, Linnea Colley, Owen Coley, Reese Colley, Michael Vrska Jr. (Robin) Phil Vrska (Renee), Timothy Vrska (Tess), Mathias Vrska, Carolyn (Vrska) Lyon (Nate), Stephen Vrska (Whitney), Jorddan Vrska, Joshua Vrska, Stefini (Colley) Hanley (Jake), Scott Colley (Nesli), Sonja (Colley) Booker (Joe), Bryant Colley (Natalie), Alyssa Colley, Sterling Smith (Deanne), Rachelle (Mayo) Van Wagoner (Casey), Lance Bratcher (Amy), Amber (Virden) Boswell (Brian), Ashley and Adam Neisess.

Arline had 33 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Andrew and Edith (Lund) Peterson of Chesterton, Ind., husbands Dean Lange and Dean Colley and daughter Sonya (Colley) Neisess.

Arline graduated from Chesterton High School, in 1959. She belonged and was very active in the Madison Square Church in Grand Rapids, Mich. She was a pianist and organist and played for many church functions.

She always wanted to be a nurse and in later years went back to school, was one of the top in her class and earned her nursing degree at age 60. She worked for a Cancer and Hematology Centers of Western Michigan in Grand Rapids, MI, before retiring.

Arline was always full of fun and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

There will be a brief service on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at 11:00 a.m., from the White-Love Funeral Home, 525 South 2nd Street, Chesterton, Ind., with Pastor Thelma Cobbler officiating. Burial will follow in the Chesterton Cemetery.
