Ann Kaiser Cormicle dies at age 93

Ann Kaiser Cormicle, age 93 of Chesterton, Ind., passed away Monday, September 9, 2013.

She was born February 15, 1920 in Joliet, Ill., to Nick and Pauline (Lech) Cherry.

She is survived by sons, Bruce Kaiser of Michigan City, Ind., Danny (Mary) Kaiser of Auburn, Calif., and Dale (Caroline) Kaiser of Chesterton; daughters, Diane (Steve) Flatz and Pam (Don) Ember of Chesterton; 20 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Chuck Kaiser; husband, Howard Leroy Cormicle; son, David Kaiser; brothers, John and Peter Cherry; and sister, Helen Stimac.

Ann was a home maker. During World War II she worked at the Joliet Arsenal. She enjoyed taking walks and walked up to a mile a day just two months ago. Ann loved nature and animals. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Wilmington, Ill.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 13, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, IN 46304. Interment will follow at Chesterton Cemetery, 300 E. Porter Ave., Chesterton, Ind.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 12, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to Porter County VNA Hospice or a charity of the donorís choice.
