Steven P. Lemley, Sr., age 57 of Portage, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2012 in Valparaiso, Ind.

He was born March 5, 1955 in Gary, Ind.

Steve is survived by his mother, Rose Marcus of Valparaiso; son, Steven P. Lemley, Jr. (Sarah) of Valparaiso; daughter, Stacy Moehl (Scott) of Chesterton; brother, Scott Moore (Jacci) of Chesterton; sisters, Debbie Lemley of North Carolina and Patty McClelland (Larry) of Portage, and grandchildren, Kyler Lemley, Kelsie Lemley, Braiya Lemley, Brianna Moehl and Brooke Moehl.

He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Lemley.

Steve graduated from Portage High School in 1973. He worked as a Lab Tech in the 160 Plate Mill at Arcelor-Mittal, and had been with the company for more than 39 years. Steve was a member of the R-Rides Northern Indiana Cruisers, and had attended numerous car shows. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 30, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, Portage Chapel, 6941 Central Ave., Portage, Ind., with Pastor G. Thomas Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Portage.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 30, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
