Service for Robert Beglin is Saturday, May 19

Robert W. Beglin, age 69, of Beverly Shores, Ind., passed away Monday, May 14, 2012.

Bob was born September 3, 1942 in Crookston, Minn., to Hugh and Edna (Sorensen) Beglin.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Arlene and their three children, Robert (Susan) Beglin of Liberty Township, Ohio, Kristen (David) Jacobucci of Beverly Shores, Ind. and James (Valerie) Beglin of Westville, Ind. and his “Magnificent Seven” grandchildren, Robert John “RJ”, Aaron, Michael, Natalie, Dana, Anna and Jonathan.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Hugh Beglin.

Bob attended Roosevelt University and was self-employed as a business owner of imported goods. He was a Beverly Shores resident for 39 years. He served on the Town Council from 1976-1980, was a past member of the Plan Commission for many years and was a founding member of the Environmental Restoration Group. He organized and managed the Annual Beverly Shores Deer Cull for the past 10 years. Bob loved his family, his grandchildren, his town and the beach with all his heart.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2012, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Ann of the Dunes Catholic Church, Beverly Shores, Ind. Memorial gifts may be made to the American Heart Association.
