Rose M. Horton, age 95, passed away on November 10, 2012 at McGivney Health
Care in Carmel, Indiana.
She was born March 31, 1917 in LaPorte, Ind., the daughter of Vito (Tony)
and Elizabeth (Koch) Andreano.
She married Harry F. Horton on June 27, 1936.
She was a long time resident of Chesterton and Porter, Indiana from 1936 to
December 2008 when she went to live in Noblesville, Ind., at Harbour Manor
Health and Living until October, 2012 when due to her declining health, she
was moved to McGivney Health Care in Carmel.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Harry Horton
on June 8, 1976 and her sister Lucille (Andreano) McGhee, age 89, on May 20,
She is survived by a sister, Pearl Andreano (Lew) Ingwaldson, of Kirtland,
New Mexico; her daughter, Sharon Rose Raye, of Johnson City, Tenn.; son
William Edward (Carol) Horton, Noblesville, Ind.; granddaughters Julie
Hofman of Chicago, Ill. and Laurie Johnston, Piney Flats, Tenn.; grandsons
Steven (Jill) Horton, Avon, Ind.; Timothy (Wendy) Horton, Lakeville, Minn.;
great-grandson Christopher Johnston, Piney Flats, Tenn.; great-grandson Luke
Horton, Lakeville, Minn.; great-granddaughter Lily Horton, Lakeville, Minn.;
great step-grandchildren Jason and Hunter Dahl, Avon, Ind.; 14 nieces and
nephews and many great nieces and nephews.
She was a member of St. Johns United Church in Chesterton, Ind.
The family would like to express special thanks to the staff of Harbour
Manor Health and Living in Noblesville and to McGivney Health Care in Carmel
for thoughtful care during her time there.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 15, at Edmonds and Evans
Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, Ind., with a representative of St.
Johns United Church of Chesterton, presiding.
Arrangements are being handled by Edmonds and Evans Funeral Home,
Chesterton, Ind., (219) 926-1330.
Visitation will be Thursday, Nov. 15, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., the
time of service.
The funeral service will be at 12:00 p.m. with interment at Chesterton
The family asks that donations in her name, in lieu of flowers, be made to
St. Johns United Church, 225 Lincoln Ave., Chesterton, IN, 46304.
