Robert “Bob” Thomas Hughes, age 82, of Knoxville, Tenn., passed away Tuesday
morning, September 18, 2012.
Bob and Lucille Cunningham were married in Milford, Ohio on January 22,
1966, at St. Veronica’s Catholic Church in Ambridge, Pennsylvania.
Bob is survived by his wife, Lucy Cunningham Hughes; sisters-in-law, Barbara
(William) Cunningham and Carol (David) Hughes and many special friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hanley and Mildred Hughes;
daughter, Beverly Payne Hughes; three brothers and two sisters.
He graduated from Hamersville, Ohio High School and Robert Morris
University. Bob was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church. Bob was a
veteran of the US Army Signal Corp. He was a member of Faith Lodge 756 F&AM.
Bob was retired from American Bridge/US Steel and from ORNL. After
retirement he enjoyed traveling, gardening and working with computers,
having built several for himself and Lucy.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the Click
Funeral Home Farragut Chapel, 11915 Kingston Pike, Farragut, Tennessee,

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at St. John
Neumann Catholic with Father Doug Owens celebrant.
Family and friends will gather at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, September 24, at the
East Tennessee State Veteran’s Cemetery, 2200 East Gov. John Sevier Highway
for graveside services.
