P. Gene Poling dies at age 89

P. Gene Poling, 89 of Pleasant Lake, Indiana, died Jan. 8, 2012 at Hillside Country Living, Bryan, Ohio.

She was born in Edon, Ohio on February 18, 1922, to Clarence and Beatrice (Morley) Ingram, both of whom preceded her in death.

On Oct. 23, 1943 she married Walter Poling, who also preceded her on Oct. 3,1981.

Survivors include two sons and daughter-in-law Walter (Carol) Poling-Greensboro, North Carolina and Mark Poling, Chattanooga, Tennessee; daughter and son-in-law: Beth (Daniel) Warner, of Angola, Ind.; two brothers, Walter Ingram of Marietta, Georgia and Ian Ingram, Portland, Oregon; two sisters, Kathie Stevens, Highland, Colo. and Bonnie Reas, Anderson, Ind. and five grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Dennis Poling, on Feb. 18, 1980; two brothers, Don Ingram and Jim Ingram and one sister, Nancy Beecher.

She lived in Chesterton for 17 years.

She worked at Eden State Bank, Buck Lake Ranch, was a homemaker in her own home and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

A graveside service and burial will be at the Marion National Cemetery, Marion, Ind.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012 at the Weicht Funeral Home, 207 N. West St., Angola, Ind.
