Mark J. Turner, 76, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Thursday, December
20, 2012 at 5:32 am in his home.
He was born April 11, 1936 in Detroit, Mich., to Knoefel and Mabel (Beaubien)
Turner, both of whom preceded him in death.
On October 21, 1972 in Chesterton, Ind., he married Kathleen Komasinski, who
survives Michigan City.
Also surviving is a daughter, Jennifer (Eric) Zampedri of Kalamazoo, Mich.;
two sons, Jeffrey (Nicole) Turner of Michigan City, Ind., and Mark (Haley)
Turner of Fort Myers, Fla.; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Doris
Tredinnick of Roscommon, Mich., and Neva Richardson of White Hall, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Russell and Gerald Turner.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Otis, Ind., and a former
member of St. Patricks Catholic Church, Chesterton, Ind. He was a member of
the Lions Club, Chesterton, Pines Twp. Volunteer Fire Dept., and the Indiana
Governors Council for People with Disabilities.
Turner retired in 1991 from Michigan City Elston High School as a Math and
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 24,
2012, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 101 N. Church St., Otis, Ind., with the
Rev. Gerald Schweitzer, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's
Cemetery, Otis, Ind.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. in the Ott/Haverstock Funeral
Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Ind., and Monday from 9:15 a.m.
until 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Otis, Ind. Scripture service
will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel.
