Marjorie Dale Mohr, age 69 of Hobart, Ind., passed away Wednesday, March 28,
2012 in Merrillville, Ind.
She was born December 29, 1942 in Tallahassee, Fla., to Dale and Jean (Kaub)
Tharp, both of whom preceded her in death.
Marjorie is survived by her son, Joel (Lorilyn) Mohr of Liberty, Mo.;
brothers, Thomas (Debbie) Tharp of South Bend, Ind., Paul (Jackie) Tharp of
Chesterton, and Bruce Tharp of Rolling Prairie, Ind.; sisters, Barbara Flagg
of Hobart, Ind., Bea Foster and Susan Tharpe of LaPorte, Ind.; step-sister,
Pat Reed; two grandchildren, John Robert Mohr and Anthony Matthew Mohr;
special nieces, Louise (Bob) Black and Joanna Flagg and many other nieces
and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Phyllis Tharp.
Marjorie retired from U.S. Steel as a millwright. She was an animal lover
and especially loved Dachshunds. She supported underprivileged children in
other countries and was a charter member of the Chesterton Moose Lodge and
the Portage American Legion Post #260.
Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at
Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, Ind., with Pastor
Frederick Hoover officiating.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00
p.m. Cremation will take place at Heritage Crematory, Portage, Ind. Burial
will follow at Furnessville Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Hobart Humane Society.
