Lawrence A. Twiss died Tuesday, May 22, 2012, in Rapid City, South Dakota.
He was born on January 20, 1931 to Francis and Thomas Twiss, both of whom
proceeded him in death.
Surviving are his children Yolanda Twiss, of Denver, Colo.; Everette and
Sharon Twiss, Rapid City, South Dakota; Glen and Paula Twiss, Rapid City,
South Dakota; Carmen Twiss, Rapid City, South Dakota; and Terence and Corina
Twiss, Chesterton, Ind.
Also surviving him are his grandchildren Cassie, Josh, Zach, Kellie, Larry,
Vivian, Derek, Austin, Jeremy, Scotty, Isaiah, Sarah, Elijah, Joe, Jeff,
Mike, John and Tristen, as well as his great-grandchildren Ka’ya, Andrea,
Iain, Pandora, Vincent, Ava, Lauranna, Xavier, Makel, Tony, Dimitri, Taylor,
Riley, Teagan and Tanner.
He also survived by Geraldine Pepin, mother of his children, and dear friend
Wendell Pepin.
Also preceding him in death were his grandchildren Carmella, Tony and
Andrea.
He appeared in the movie “How the West was Won.” He was an avid rancher, and
served in the U.S. Air Force. He worked for Stevens High School for 19 years
and was an accomplished rodeo competitor.
A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at 302 Wabash Ave., Chesterton,
