John Oliver Johnson, Jr., age 86 of Chesterton, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2012 at the University of Chicago.

He was born September 25, 1925 in Chesterton to John and Eloise Jeffery Johnson, both of whom preceded him in death.

On May 23, 1970 he married Nancy Vest Johnson, who survives in Chesterton.

He also leaves behind many friends, loved ones and caregivers.

John was a member of the Moose Lodge 980 Michigan City and Royal Neighbors.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 27, at the White-Love Funeral Home, 525 South 2nd St., Chesterton, with Pastor Anthony Fields officiating. Burial will be in the Chesterton Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 26, at the funeral home.
