Jason Christopher Scott, age 35 of Chesterton, Ind., passed away Saturday, December 1, 2012.

He was born on March 2, 1977, in Valparaiso Ind.

He is survived by his wife Jammie Bonner Scott of Chesterton, a son Gavin Scott and daughter Kaili Burton, both of Chesterton, father Jerry L. (Loretta) Scott and brothers David (Hayley) Scott and Conor Scott, all of Chesterton, sisters Megan Young of Hobart, Ind., Carrie Samila of LaPorte, Ind., and Erika Moy of New Port Beach, Calif.

Also surviving are his grandparents, David and JoAnn Hokanson of Porter, Ind., George and Mary Lou Moy, Monita Williams and biological father George Moy, all of Chesterton.

Jason was preceded in death by his mother Trudy Lynn Hokanson Scott, his grandfather Joseph Williams and former wife Tracy Scott.

Jason was a steelworker for Mittal Steel in the coke battery and a member of the United States Steel Workers Union 6787. He was an avid fisherman and he loved to hunt.

A memorial funeral service will be held on Friday, December 7, 2012, at 11 a.m. at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 South 2nd St., Chesterton, with Pastor G. Thomas Jones officiating.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 6, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to the Gavin Scott College Fund.
