Mrs. Helen E. Draves, 95, of Kingsford Heights, died Monday, June 4, 2012 at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Michigan City, Ind.

She was born May 14, 1917 in Valparaiso, Ind., the daughter of Paul F. Wojahn and Henrietta W (Nehring) Wojahn.

On December 24, 1941, in Valparaiso, IN, she married Lawrence F. "Archie" Draves who preceded her in death September 27, 1984.

Helen was retired from Austenal LaPorte Casting Division. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cooking and gardening - most of all, Helen enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her son David (Nancy) Draves of Kingsford Heights, IN; daughter Susan Kluska of Michigan City, IN; five grandchildren - Richard Draves of Kingsford Heights, IN, Darren Draves of Hickory Corners, MI, Hilary Draves of Portage, MI, Jennifer Kluska of San Francisco, CA and Stephanie Draves- Jones of Hamlet, IN; two great grandchildren; and sister-in-law Gwen Wojahn of Pryor, OK.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Lawrence P. Draves, two grandchildren, Pamela Draves and Diane Draves-Stout, sister, Wilhelmina Wojahn, and two brothers, Julius and Harold Wojahn.

Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends Thursday, June 7, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and Friday, June 8, 2012 from 9:30 a.m., until time of service.

A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Friday, June 8, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Michael Heimer officiating. Interment will follow at the Salem Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana.
