George “James” Desormeaux, II, 34, of Fort Bragg, North Carolina, formerly of Chesterton, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2012 at home.

He was born February 1, 1977 to George James Desormeaux and Christina Jo Traxler.

He graduated from Chesterton High School in 1995 and entered the U.S. Army, achieving the rank of Sergeant (E5).

Survivors include his wife Patricia, sons Joshua Augustus Desormeaux and Aiden Dante Desormeaux, and daughter Kristianna Juliet Desormeaux, at home.

Also surviving are his father, George J. (Sue) Desormeaux of Valparaiso; mother Tina Traxler, of LaPorte; brother Ian (Andri) Desormeaux of Chicago; sister Sarah (Jim) Pistorio of Kendallville, Ind.; aunt Cindi (John) Bledsoe of Westville and many loving friends.

James loved traveling to various places, snowboarding the Alps, rock climbing, achieving success when trying new recipes, exploring the ins and outs of virtual video game worlds and, above all, spending meaningful, quality time with his family.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, at 1:00 p.m. at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, with Pastor Jim Motshagen officiating. Cremation will follow.

Visitation will be held Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. at Moeller Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to the Wounded Warriors project.
