Freda (Codd) Cree, age 97, passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at
White Oak of Rock Hill, South Carolina.
Freda Marguerite Larsen was born to Alma and Lars Peter Larsen, in Coral,
Michigan, on May 22, 1915, both of whom preceded her in death.
She is survived by four children Carol and husband, (Lawrence Magnuson) of
Fort Mill , S.Car.; Marilyn and husband (Dr. Edward Humpert) of Chattanooga,
Tenn.; William of Laurel, Md. and Allan of Cincinnati, Ohio. Also her
sister-in-law, Norma Larsen of Coral, Mich.
Surviving are her grandchildren, Chase Magnuson (Jeanine) of Broken Arrow,
Ok. and Kim Hajas (Brian) of Fort Mill, S. Car.; Katie Winkler of Fletcher,
N. Car. and Christine Magdaleno (Francisco) of Laurel, Md., and seven
great-grandchildren.
She was one of three children and was preceded in death by her sister,
Frances and her brother, Alvin. She was also preceded in death by her
husband, William Codd in 1983 and by her second husband, Lawrence Cree in
2000.
In l959 she and husband William Codd and family moved from Elmhurst, Ill. to
Graham Woods in Chesterton, Ind. As a homemaker, she was involved with the
PTA and was co-owner of the Old World Gift Shop on Calumet Ave. from 1967 to
1976.
Freda was a member of the United Church of God of Charlotte, N. Car.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, November 5, 2012 at 1 p.m. at
Bethel Lutheran Church of Salisbury, North Carolina, with internment at
Rowan Memorial Park.
