Don Lambert service set for Thursday

Donald Lambert, age 67 of Chesterton, Ind., passed away Saturday July 7, 2012 at his home.

He was born March 3, 1945 in Lawrence County, Miss., to J.W. Lambert who preceded him in death and Helen King Lambert who survives in Olive Branch, Miss.

On February 19, 2000 in Porter he married Jennie Awald Lambert who survives in Chesterton.

Also surviving are his son Jason (Tanya) Lambert of Mishawaka, Ind.; his step-children Carolyn (Ron) Taylor of Rockwood, Tenn.; Craig (Suzette) Awald of Goshen, Ind., and Patte Birkholz of Chesterton; grandchildren Jessica, Steven, Jacob and Sadie Lambert, step-grandchildren Taylor Hoover, Gary and Dinah Taylor, Veronica, Calvin and Sylvia Awald, Josh Lockard and Jarett Pearce.

Don is also survived by his siblings Cal (Carol) Lambert of Chesterton, Ray (Valerie) Lambert of Valparaiso, Ind., and Katie Gilland of Olive Branch Miss.

He was preceded in death by his brother James Lambert and step-grandson Scott Hoover.

Don was in the Air Force for four years, a steel worker at U.S. Can Company for 31 years, a member of the American Legion Post 170, where he was Past Chaplin and an avid golfer.

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. from the White-Love Funeral Home, 525 South 2nd St., Chesterton, Ind., with Pastor Craig Forwalter officiating.

The family will receive Donís good friends and family at 1:00 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date at the Furnessville Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to VNA Hospice in Donís name.
