Brent C. Medley, 75, of Kentland, passed away unexpectedly at 6:30 p.m.
Thursday, August 16, 2012, in Iroquois Memorial Hospital, Watseka, Illinois.
He was born March 14, 1937, in Chesterton to the late Donald and Thelma (Reglein)
Medley and was a 1955 graduate of Chesterton High School.
On October 28, 1961, in Augsburg Lutheran Church in Porter, Indiana, he
married Ann Chellberg. She survives.
Surviving with his wife are four daughters, Joy (Jeff) Sands, of Brook,
Ind., Jill Hardebeck of Kentland, Ind., Shelly Medley Hall of Goodland,
Ind., and Karen (Dave) Miller of Marion, Ind.; a brother, Morriss Medley of
Walkerton, Ind., and a sister, Wanda (Billy) Lott, of LaPorte, Ind.
Preceding him in death with his parents were two brothers, James (Hilde)
Medley and Louis (Beverly) Jarrett.
He served in the United States Marines from 1956, serving at Camp Pendleton
in California, and was honorably discharged in 1958.
Brent worked as a line serviceman for Northern Indiana Public Service
Company for 35 years, retiring in 1992.
He was 52 year member of American Legion Post #23 of Kentland and was an
avid South Newton High School sports fan. He was a member of Oak Springs
Country Club in St. Anne, Illinois, and also enjoyed woodworking, tinkering
in his garage and mowing.
Brent loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren,
Craig (Danielle) Sands, Olivia Hardebeck, Devin and Levi Hall and Michelle
and Michael Miiller.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. (CST) Monday, August 20, 2012, at Stitz-Clapper
Funeral Home of Kentland. Services are set there for 2:00 p.m. (CST)
Tuesday, August 21, 2012, with Pastor Richard E. Gerts officiating.
Interment to follow in Fairlawn Cemetery of Kentland.
