Sally Marie Augusta Zaborowski, age 70 of Chesterton, passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at Porter Hospital Valparaiso Campus.

She was born on June 2, 1940 in Gary, to Otto and Signe (Johnson) Sohlberg.

She is survived by sons Andrew (Shondra) Zaborowski of Columbus, and Michael Zaborowski of Chesterton; sisters Karen (John) Andershock of Chesterton and Betty (Doug) Babcock of Chesterton; 3 grandchildren, Eden, Nadia and Elijah, and many nieces and nephews. Sally was preceded in death by her parents. She worked as a teacher for the Portage School System, retiring in 2000.

Sally was an avid reader and pet lover. She persevered through many health issues over the past years and always kept her focus on her family. Sally will be remembered for her wonderful spirit and attitude of enjoying life.

Cremation will be at Heritage Crematory, Portage.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 19, at 12 Noon at Augsburg Lutheran Church, 100 N. Mineral Springs Road, Porter, with Pastor Erik Bernth officiating.

Visitation with the family will be held at the church on Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
