Charles Iler, age 73 of Michigan City, died Saturday, August 13, 2011 at
Life Care Center.
He was born June 29, 1938 in Chesterton, Indiana, to Charles Henry Iler and
Fern Alta Moyer, both of whom preceded him in death.
On November 21, 1959 in Michigan City he married Nancy Fyhr, who survives.
Also surviving are one son David Charles (Julie Fowler) Iler, of Michigan
City and one daughter, Kathleen Potter of Chesterton.
Also, grandchildren Kristin Strelinski, Tom Holkan, Justin Holkan, Samantha
Holkan, Daniel (Amanda) Fowler and Joseph Iler, as well as
great-grandchildren Derrek and Danielle Fowler and three sisters; Maxine
Fickes of Chesterton, Phyllus Morris, of Minnesota and Rose (Gerald) Tarnow
of Ocala, Fla. and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Leland Iler.
Charles retired from NIPSCO and was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church.
A Celebration of Life Service will be Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at 1:00
p.m. at Evergreen Baptist Church with Pastor Jonathan Rumley officiating.
Internment of ashes will be in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens at a later date.
Carlisle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
