Paul Anthony Jatkiewicz, born on July 14, 1942 to Julius Jatkiewicz and
Helen Jatkiewicz (Nocum), died in the presence of his loving family on
September 25, 2011.
He was a lifelong resident of Northwest Indiana and a 1960 graduate of Lew
Wallace High School. He was honorably discharged from the US Army and a
retiree from Bethlehem Steel after 36 years of employment. He was a member
of the local steelworker’s union, American Legion and Isaak Walton Club.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Helen Jatkiewicz and
sister, Alexandra Jiminez.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 37 years, Grace Jatkiewicz; two
daughters, Michelle Jatkiewicz and Kathleen Jatkiewicz-Chandler and one
grandson, Zachary Chandler.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, September 29, 2011
at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 638 N. Calumet Rd. with Father
James Meade officiating. Burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery,
Merrillville, Ind.
A time of prayer and visitation will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2011
from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. at the church. In
lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the VNA Hospice of Porter
County.
