Robert W. Emerick of Michigan City passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at
Life Care Center, Michigan City. He was 82.
He was born on May 20, 1928 in Renovo, Pa., to John and Elizabeth (Weeks)
Emerick, who preceded him in death. On Oct. 28, 1948 in Trieste, Italy, he
married Carmen Bordon Emerick who survives in Michigan City.
Also surviving are his sons Robert J. (wife Bobbie J.) Emerick of Chesterton
and Kenneth S. (Kristine) Emerick of Los Gatos, Calif.; grandchildren Daniel
and Sarah Emerick; and great grandchildren Rebecca, Philip and Patrick.
Robert was preceded in death by his grandson Robert Emerick in 1998 and his
siblings Charles, Grace and Peggy.
Robert was an engineer, Vice President of Clark Equipment, Vice President of
International Van, and an army medic serving in Korea from 1950-51. He was
also a member of the Orak Shrine, Michigan City, Acme Masonic Lodge # 83,
Michigan City and Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, South Bend.
A memorial service will be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 5 at the White-Love
Funeral Home, 525 South 2nd St., Chesterton with Acme Masonic Lodge #83. The
family will receive friends on Saturday, March 5 from 6:30 p.m. until the
time of service. Memorials may be given in memory of Robert to the Shriners
Hospitals for Children and to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
