Service set for Jason Elliot Sisco

Jason Elliott Sisco of Chesterton passed away on Friday, Jan. 7, 2011 at his home. He was 39.

Jason was born Jan. 8, 1971, in Valparaiso to Wendell and Wilda (Mills) Sisco. He worked as a carpenter for the Carpenter’s Union in Hobart. Jason loved music, and he played guitar and sang with the bands Fury and Baglady among others. He was an avid reader and enjoyed poetry. Jason loved spending time with his daughter, Sabrina, and his nieces and nephews and was a role model to all the children in his life.

He is survived by his parents, Wendell Sisco of Porter and Wilda Sawaski of Benton, Ky.; daughter, Sabrina Taylor Sisco of Hobart; Sabrina’s mother as well as longtime friend Sara Hudnall; brother Wendell “Butch” Sisco Jr. of Illinois; sisters Roberta LaRue Daniel of Porter and Jennifer Sue (husband David Durocher) Sisco of LaPorte; uncles Jay, Glendell and Robin; aunt, Juanita; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 13 at 10 a.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home Portage Chapel, 6941 Central Ave., Portage. Cremation will take place at Heritage Crematory, with private interment of ashes at Heritage Cemetery, Portage at a later date. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 12 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
