Service set for Donald Oliver Breitzke

Donald Oliver Breitzke of Valparaiso passed away Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011. He was 83.

He was born Dec. 6, 1927 in Valparaiso, the son of Louis A. and Fannie (Sherrick) Breitzke. He was a WW II and Korean Navy Veteran and was a machinist at Indiana General. He was also a 64-year member of the American Legion Charles Pratt Post 94. On Nov. 14, 1947 in Chesterton, he married Lenora Babcock, who survives in Valparaiso.

Also surviving are sons Thomas (wife Mary) Breitzke of Illinois, Kevin (Karyn) Breitzke of Valparaiso and Mark (Vicki) Breitzke of Chesterton; daughter Donna (husband Muhsin) Al Baz of Lafayette; nine grandchildren,; six great grandchildren; s sister Leotta Ziegler of Valparaiso; and brother Louis “Bud” Breitzke of Elkhart.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 7, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe St., Valparaiso, with Shane Breitzke officiating. Burial will be in Chesterton Cemetery.
