Service set for David Ditch

David P. Ditch of Chesterton passed away on Monday, Jan. 3, 2011 at his home. He was 52.

He was born on Feb. 10, 1958 in Allentown, Pa., to Roy M. Ditch and Alice Mary Thompson-Ditch, both of whom preceded him in death. On July 25, 1992, he married Michelle Carver-Ditch, who resides in Chesterton.

Also surviving are his wife Michelle; children Christina Stanim and Michael Cauley, both of Chesterton, and Amanda Ditch; brother Rev. Thomas (wife Kathy) Ditch of Indianapolis; nieces and nephews Nick and Jacob Ditch, Richelle (husband Eric) Wimberly, Richard (Julie) Bloss and Robert Bloss; great-nieces and nephews Kathleen Bloss, Victori Wimberly and Rocky and Josh Bloss.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Kathleen Ditch, brother Richard Roy Ditch and niece Tiana Ditch.

Dave was a millwright at NLMK (formerly known as Beta) for 13 years and was a Vietnam Veteran and Navy Seal.

Funeral services will be Saturday, Jan. 8 at 5 p.m. with Rev. Thomas Ditch officiating at the White-Love Funeral Home, 525 South 2nd Street, Chesterton. The family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m. on Saturday. Memorials may be given to Dave’s family in his memory. For additional information, call White-Love Funeral Home at 926-1309.
