Former Chesterton resident Barbara C. Lee of Chicago passed away Saturday,
Jan. 1, 2011 at her home. She was 62.
She was born Feb. 27, 1948 in Gary to Robert E. Lee and Mary Gregor Lee,
both of whom survive in Chesterton.
Also surviving are her brother Robert E. (wife Francine) Lee of Grays Lake,
Ill.; sisters Mary P. (husband Langston) Hayes, Bolingbrook, Ill., and
Nanette (Larry) Estes of Anniston, Ala.; and many nieces, nephews, aunts,
uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Wendy Lee.
Barbara was a former School Sister of Sisters of Notre Dame for 20 years.
She served as principal in several schools in the Milwaukee area, and in the
past three years, she was principal at Saint Michaels School in Chicago.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011 at noon from the
White-Love Funeral Home, 525 South 2nd Street, Chesterton with Father Terry
Bennis officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time
of service. Memorials may be made to the Tuition Assistance Fund for
