Service Monday for Margery Kalvaitis 83

The mother of local resident Donna Love has passed away at age 83.

Margery F. Kalvaitis, 83 of Lowell, passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at her home.

She was born July 19, 1928 in Belshaw, Ind., to Eldon and Maurina Foreburger Miller, both of whom preceded her in death.

On April 16, 1948, at St. Edward Church in Lowell, she married Lee Kalvaitis who preceded her in death in 2007.

Margery is survived by her children Karen Childress of Hebron, Frank (Jeannine) Kalvaitis of Lowell and Donna (Jim) Love of Chesterton. Also, her grandchildren, Lee (Jennifer) Childress, Mike (Julie) Kalvaitis, Kristie (Skip) Drew, Matt (Jenanne) Kalvaitis, Mark Childress, Katie (Aaron) Hoffman, Jeremy (Jennifer) Kalvaitis, Elisabeth (Jake) Woodworth, Kyle Childress, Mary Love and Austin Kalvaitis, her great-grandchildren Alexis, Lauren, Julian, Madeline, Dakota, James, Brendan, Lillian, Brandon and Eleanor.

She has a brother Glen (Joan) Miller who survives in Lowell, previous daughter-in-law Patty Kalvaitis, many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son-in-law Butch Childress, siblings Gerald Miller, Eloise Nichols and Eleanor Arnold.

Margery was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church, past president of home and school, past member of the Rosary Sodality, past Sacristan and Eucharistic Minister and funeral luncheon organizer. Marge and her husband Lee owned and operated Moon Island Farms.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 14, 2011 at St. Edward Church, 216 S. Nichols St., Lowell at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Father Ted Nordquist, Father Peter Muha and Father Thomas Mishler will officiate.

Burial will follow in the St. Edward Cemetery, Lowell.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-7:00 p.m. at the Geisen Funeral Home, 624 Main St., Hebron on Sunday, November 13, 2011.

Memorials may be given to the Westchester Food Pantry.
