Rosemarie Glasgow, age 80 of Burns Harbor, Indiana, passed away Saturday,
October 15, 2011 at her home.
She was born October 10, 1931 in Munster, Ind. to Michael and Agnes (Putz)
Schaller.
She was married on October 7, 1950 in Hammond, Ind. to Albert Glasgow.
Rosemarie is survived by her daughters, Leann (Michael) Perrine of Burns
Harbor, Patricia (Robbie) Niemela of Tooele, Utah and Debra (Scott) Germain
of LaCrosse, Ind.; brother, Michael (Margie) Schaller of Griffith, Ind.;
sister, Jeanette (Eddie) Zolper of Lowell, Ind.; brother-in-law, Larry
(Joan, preceded) Glasgow of Gary, Ind.; sisters-in-law, Maudie (Norman)
Kostoff of Hammond, Ind. and Betty (Steve, preceded) Susko of Higland, Ind.;
mother in law, Beulah Glasgow of Highland; 12 grandchildren and 29 great
grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert A. Glasgow; son, Albert
Earl Glasgow; mother and father, Agnes and Michael Schaller; father-in-law,
Earl Glasgow; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, James and Patricia
Glasgow.
Rosemarie was a resident of Hammond for 30 years, moving to Warsaw, Ind. in
1989 on Hoffman Lake.
In 2007 she left behind many special friends and extended family to move to
Burns Harbor to be closer to her family.
Rosemarie was a member of Nativity of Our Savior Catholic Church.
She worked for H&R Block for 10 years and was a representative for Avon for
more than 25 years.
Rosemarie and her husband enjoyed doing arts and crafts and attended many
festivals throughout the area. She was a Lifetime Member of the Girl Scouts
and served as a leader for many years. Rosemarie also loved to do canning
and fishing with her family.
She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who
attended and supported all of her family’s endeavors.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 22, at 3:30 p.m. at
Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, Ind., with Rev. Jane
Aicher officiating.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. until
the time of service at 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Cremation will be performed by Heritage Crematory, Portage, Ind., with
burial of ashes at St. Joseph Cemetery in Hammond at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the VNA Hospice Center of Porter County or to a
charity of the donor’s choice.
