Robert G. Wampler dies at age 79

Robert G. Wampler, age, 79 of Chesterton passed away Sunday, September 4, 2011 at the VNA Hospice Center, Valparaiso.

On May 17,1932 in Martinsville, Ind., he was born to Archie and Edith (Sink) Wampler, both of whom preceded him in death.

Bob is survived by one son Mike (Debby) Wampler of Fort Myers, Florida, daughters Linda Hanson of Westville, Ind. and Diane Jozwick of Hobart and a step son Randy (Sharon) Nelson of Chesterton.

He was preceded in death by his sister Barbara Stephens.

Bob worked in the Sheet and Tin Department in US Steel. He was a veteran of the Korean War and a member of the VFW Post 2511 and the American Legion Post 170. He loved his garden and enjoyed fishing with his family. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

A celebration of Bobís life will be held at a later date.

White-Love Funeral Home, 525 South 2nd St., Chesterton is in charge of the arrangements.

Memorials may be given to the Porter County VNA Hospice Center.
